New Club Teams Competition!

This year, Eureka Cycling Club have created a new Club Team event in conjunction with Geelong & Surfcoast Cycling Club and Northern Cycling Club. Each club will host a graded scratch events (3-5 grades depending on numbers) where members will race for their club to earn the coveted trophy that will ultimately determine which club is the greatest and the strongest!

Points will be issued to the first 5 finishers in each grade and will be aggregated to the each clubs overall score. The club with the most points after the 3 race series will be crowned the Championship Club. The host club determines the course and the format and winning club for the year will have the honour of hosting the final race of the series.

Race 1 - 5th March Geelong

Race 2 - 19th March Northern (Campbellfield)

Race 3 - 15th October Eureka

This a great way to race as a team, support your club and generate a friendly, competitive environment with our friends from other clubs in the region. This is a new initiative that we hope will add a new dynamic to the club and we encourage all our riders to get involved to support the concept.

A Circuit Breaker

This year your Committee have decided to insert a 7 week break in the season to give Riders and Volunteers a break during the coolest weeks of the year. This has come about with the drop in numbers racing through the winter months and the need to cancel a number of events over recent years in an effort revitalise the calendar. It also provides an opportunity for those members who have missed some racing to prepare for the next block of racing.

New Aggregate Awards

The season will still have an overall Aggregate Trophy on offer to the member who accumulate the most points across the entire year, but we will also be awarding Aggregate Prizes for each half of the season.

New Women’s Categories

For the first time in the Club’s history, we are introducing some new category of awards exclusively for Women to encourage more female riders to join and race. We’ll announce more details on this soon!
