Weatherboard Scratch Racing - 21st May 2023
Graded Points races were the order of the day at Learmonth on Sunday 21st May. Competitor numbers were impacted by the gravel gran fondo at nearby Creswick where close to one thousand riders battled the elements, including a healthy swag of Eureka members and Nick Locandro was racing in China. Nevertheless, eighteen riders still pinned on numbers and ventured out onto the breezey Weatherboard circuit overlooking Lake Learmonth
VMC Round 3
The 3rd Round of the VMC Series in Ballarat was a fantastic success with 78 riders making the start line. The course was dynamic with a few inclines to attack on and the wind provided plenty of gutter action. The following points tally is preliminary only and require verification. Northern only had 14 riders on the day but managed a very respectable 35 points. Geelong started with 30 riders and their chargers amassed 115 points, While Eureka had the home ground advantage with numbers and course knowledge started with 34 riders and we were able to win the day with 141 points hopefully leapfrogging Northern on the points table and clawing back some much needed ground on Geelong.
Scratch Prove That Being “Younger” Makes All The Difference

Limit were down to 2 after a late scratching with Renee Clapham and new member Stephen Britton getting a 22 minute head start on the back markers. They rode valiantly and got to within 5 km of the finish before the race caught up to them
