New Season Prize Money

It’s a new season and we are super excited to get under way, and to get you motivated and in the mood, we wanted highlight what you can win when you race with Eureka Cycling Club this year (excludes opens, championships and trophy races). Fresh off our announcement of the new Women’s prizes launched yesterday, we’re bringing back an old favourite…

Ride of the Day

We are re-introducing a popular award for all Eureka Club races this year called “Ride of the Day”. Selected by the club official on the day, 1 rider will be selected as the recipient of the award deemed to have embodied the spirit of the club and demonstrated courage, determination, sportsmanship and/or outstanding achievement that didn’t earn them victory or a place on the podium but was recognised by the handicapper/commissaires as outstanding in its own right. Given that Jason Birch has a mortgage on 2nd place in whatever race he’s entered, it’s unlikely he’ll ever be eligible. Just kidding Birchy, we love you and you are welcome to the award anytime (or at least runner up 🤣).

Handicaps

This year we have 16 handicap races including our Open and Trophy races. The structure of prize money this year will be as follows:

1st - $30

2nd - $20

3rd - $15

4th - $10

5th - $10

Fastest Time - $15

First Female - $15

Ride of the Day - $10

Graded Scratch/Criteriums

There are 12 graded scratch/criterium races excluding championship races. The structure of prize money for these races in each grade will be as follows:

1st - $20

2nd - $15

3rd - $10

First Female - $10 (unless the race is a women’s specific event)

There will also be 1 x “Ride of the Day” awarded to 1 rider (non place getter) across the whole field of $10

(Open and Trophy Race prize money will vary depending on entries and sponsorship)
