Committee Update

Last Sunday 5th Feb we had 35 riders attend the first race of the season at Victoria Park which was the best turn out Wes have seen at a Club race for quite some time. This made for some top quality racing in all 4 Divisions and it was great to see so many new new faces and visitors who we hope will return for next weeks Scratch Race around the Weatherboard circuit.

It takes a team of dedicated individuals who give up their time freely on the Committee to run a safe, smooth and efficient Club to ensure we all enjoy riding, racing and socialising together. To each of those people (past and present) I have an huge amount of admiration and respect because it is through their selfless actions that we are all able to enjoy our Club.

Over the last few months your Committee have been working very hard to create the structure and infrastructure to ensure we can provide you all (and future members) the very best Club product and culture we possibly can and I am very pleased to announce 2 new additions to the Committee.

Tim Sinclair (Marshalling Coordinator) - Tim is a relative new comer to cycling having only started riding in the last 5 years but he has quickly developed into a quality bike rider competing at the highest level within our Club and at BSCC. Tim has a financial planning background and he has joined the Committee taking on the very important position of Marshalling Coordinator to help ensure the Marshalling positions are filled for each race and to communicate with everyone involved and assist with any issues or questions relating to marshalling.

Jeremy Humber (Memberships Coordinator) - Jeremy has been a part of Eureka for quite a while and has featured in many races and won his fair share with his quick legs and track experience. Jeremy has agreed to join the Committee in the capacity as Memberships Coordinator. Jeremy will fulfils an important role that will ensure new members are welcomed to the club, and maintaining a membership register to ensure we have an accurate and up to date understanding of our members, their composition and numbers.

Please join me in welcoming and thanking both of these members for helping to build a strong, vibrant and inclusive Club for now and its future.

Positions Vacant - We still have 1 committee position that we would like to fill which requires an experienced racer, who capable of overseeing the racing calendar and ensuring we deliver a quality, safe event each and every week. We also have a Fund Raising and Sponsorships position along with some deputy roles which are non committee positions but very important nonetheless. If you are interesting helping to shape the future of the club and can commit a bit of your important spare time to give back, please the Club via eurekacyclingclub@gmail.com for chat.
