Call To Arms-Club Series in Geelong
The inaugural Club Team Series between Eureka Cycling Club, Geelong & Surf Coast Cycling Club and Northern Cycling Club is shaping up to be an exciting competition. The format is Scratch Racing with up to 5 grades and each Club’s representatives will compete for finishing points with the first 8 riders across the line receiving additional points in each grade. However, every finisher will receive a point so it’s important to enter and finish off the race regardless of your place.
The points system in each grade contested will be as follows:
1st Place - 10 points to their representative club
2nd Place - 8 points to their representative club
3rd Place - 7 points to their representative club
4th Place - 6 points to their representative club
5th Place - 5 points to their representative club
6th Place - 4 points to their representative club
7th Place - 3 points to their representative club
8th Place - 2 points to their representative club
Points will be tallied for the event and will be aggregated toward each Club’s total. The Club with the most points at the end of the 3 race series will be crowned the winner of the Club Team Series, be awarded the perpetual trophy and hold bragging rights over their Northern and GSCC counterparts for 12 months (assuming Eureka wins that is).
It is one of the most enjoyable formats because you get to truely race as a team for your Club and the strategy is critical. It’s the most fun you can have on a road bike!
As it stands at 4.15pm on Tuesday 28th Feb, there are well over 40 entries and climbing.
Each member will need to hire a transponder on the day if you don’t already have on.
